My random thoughts, as posted on my Twitter account:

September 7, 2010

  • 4:51 pm - Mark Neumann is getting really good at wrapping his veiled insults in "aww shucks, everyone's negative but me" pablum.

September 2, 2010

  • 12:46 pm - #sigh

September 1, 2010

  • 4:05 pm - Introducing the new $99 Apple TV -- all the features of a $99 networkable Blu-ray player without the hassle of pesky Blu-ray discs.
  • 11:00 am - I apologize to the rest of my office for killing their upstream bandwidth today. Uploading hour-long HD video will do that.
  • 10:29 am - Any recommendations for long-form HD video hosting (preferably free) besides YouTube, Blip.TV and Vimeo?

August 31, 2010

  • 3:49 pm - YouTube is sitting on my Partner application, and Blip.TV seems useless. What's a content provider with hour-long content to do?
  • 2:44 pm - At this point, I'd normally say "I'm in the weeds today," but I've never seen weeds tall enough to make that metaphor work.
  • 2:19 pm - God bless Netflix, forever putting an end to the days where I had to leave the couch to rent "Rover Dangerfield."
  • 1:50 pm - You think if I flashed Google a twenty, they'd speed up my YouTube Partner application?
  • 1:07 pm - The very tip of the index finger of your favored hand is just about the least opportune place to have a cut.

August 30, 2010

  • 10:31 pm - Florence Henderson is on Dancing With The Stars this season. Bet she'll bring a lot of Wessonality to the competition.
  • 10:16 pm - After announcing that cast, Dancing With The Stars should be legally compelled to rename itself Dancing With The Knowns.
  • 9:41 pm - Good God, could we please ratify an official list of relevant technology buzzwords so the media stops using ones from the CompuServe era?!
  • 9:34 pm - Rendering 1080p AVCHD turns an otherwise unassuming Celeron M laptop into a rather efficient space heater.
  • 6:47 pm - Filming the first "In The Huddle" live show tonight. 1080p HD and 24fps with our new Canon camera. LOVE IT!
  • 3:32 pm - Camera finally came. Still getting hands on, but I LOVE this camera! It would be such a great affordable social media video camera!
  • 1:28 pm - Sweet mercy, UPS... you're toying with my patience today.

August 27, 2010

  • 2:22 pm - Anyone who can name me a good (free!) alternative to OpenX and Google Doubleclick for ad serving is automatically my new best friend.
  • 11:49 am - Trying out Google's Doubleclick for Publishers as an alternative to OpenX, but I'm having the damnedest time getting it to work.
  • 7:37 am - Apparently at TigerDirect, "Next Day by 4:30" shipping on a Thursday morning order means delivery on Monday... maybe.
  • 7:30 am - Knew I should have ordered Newegg instead of TigerDirect. Overnight ship is cheaper at TD but at least Newegg processes orders same day.

August 26, 2010

  • 10:52 pm - Packers won 59-24 tonight. Haven't seen a score like that since the last time I played the All-Madden team and threw all hail-mary passes.
  • 2:38 pm - Having a hard time deciding which was the worst web product rolled out this summer -- Hulu Plus or Facebook Places.
  • 12:29 pm - You know the economy sucks when you have to stage a whirlwind second engagement in the tabloids to get on Dancing With The Stars. #bristol
  • 11:36 am - Whew! Just pulled my head out of Photoshop for a minute. Seems like a lot of time has passed. Do we have hovercars yet?

Away We Go
A great all-star cast. An incredible soundtrack and score by Alexi Murdoch. Funny, sweet and touching script. A very fulfilling journey.

Where The Wild Things Are
While it's pretty dark for a kids movie, it's an incredibly well-done, engaging and poignant movie that celebrates the magic of childhood.
